BGMC

BGMC stands for “Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge.” Boys and girls are challenged to help our missionaries, challenged to sacrificially give to missions, to reach the lost, and to keep their hearts open to the call of full-time missions. The money raised through BGMC is used to provide our missionaries with the supplies they need to reach people around the world. BGMC equips kids to know, to care, to pray, to give, and to reach the lost. Every children’s ministry program at Suncoast contributes to BGMC in different ways.
BGMC Sunday is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month in Kid City and Juniorville. Parents are encouraged to help their children save, find or raise money to fill their “Buddy Barrel” to bring for the missions offering.
The children have set a goal collect $2000 for foreign missions this year.
Progress Tracking

In Kid City we track the giving of every child from Kindergarten all the way through 5th grade. Kids are rewarded for their giving when they reach certain goals.
- $25 – Buddy Pin
- $50 – 50 dollar pin
- $100 – 100 dollar pin
- $200 – 200 dollar pin

- You get the idea.
We also reward the top giver (boy and girl) each month during the BGMC service.

Jewel Kessie is our BGMC Director and leads our monthly BGMC Service. If you have questions, would like to contribute, participate or have ideas for raising funds for missionaries, contact us and we’ll get you connected.
BGMC Frequently Asked Questions
- What do we do with the yellow barrel?
It’s called a “Buddy Barrel” and children are encouraged to fill it with found or spare change, donations and raised monies for missions. - When do we bring in the Buddy Barrel?
Though our special giving service is each first Sunday, you can turn in your offering any Sunday and it will still be counted separately, applied to your child’s total giving and credited to the missions fund. - Where do BGMC funds go?
BGMC is the ministry that provides whatever a missionary needs—where they need it and when they need it. It’s like an emergency “ready” fund. This fund is quick, it’s instant, and it helps them when they need it. Many missionaries would be at a loss without BGMC. Missionaries desperately need to purchase supplies such as Bibles, tracts, Sunday School literature, library books and study books for the Bible colleges, computers, printers, photocopy machines, video DVDs, puppets, costume animals, translating materials into various languages, sound systems, and lots more. - Where can I find more information about BGMC?
Visit the official BGMC website. There is also a Kids BGMC site.
